Who we are

Private Moment Press publishes books that look you in the eye.

We believe in sharp, human stories — the kind that carry wit without cruelty, empathy without sentimentality, and honesty without filter. Our books are concise, design-forward, and built to linger long after the last page.

We don’t sanitize. We don’t pander. We tell it like it is.

The press grew out of lived experience — growing up in a military family, serving in uniform, and learning to find dignity and humor in unlikely places. That background shapes how we see publishing: every book is a survival manual for the overlooked, the awkward, and the unspoken.

Our guiding values are simple:

  • Humor that never punches down

  • Essays with receipts — not vibes

  • Short books with long aftertaste

  • Stories built from unpolished truth, not marketing gloss

It began with Occupied: A Field Guide to the Quiet Angst of Public Restrooms and continues with titles that decode office culture, nightlife, and other rituals of modern life.

Private Moment Press distributes through Amazon and Lulu, with select trade availability via IngramSpark. But more than distribution, what matters is connection: readers who recognize themselves in the overlooked corners of daily life and want writing that tells the truth without flinching.

Because life isn’t neat or polished. And neither are we.
